Our dog hikers outdoor enthusiasts, many holding or pursuing higher degrees while others work full time elsewhere but with a flexible schedule. All our hikers truly care for nature and animals. This is a part-time opportunity and is ideal for those seeking a supplemental income.

LOWER TAXES

All our team members are W2 employees. Unlike other contractor based platforms such as Rover & Wag, taxes on your earnings are at a lower rate since Denver Dog Hikers pays an employer portion.

WE supply the vehicle

Dog hikers use a company vehicle to pick up and drop off the canine clients.

24/7 Online Scheduling

With our powerful and user-friendly online scheduling platform you will know where to be at what time. Our platform is compatible on mobile & desktop devices.

CONSISTENT WORK

Over 90% of our clients are on a weekly recurring schedule. This means that your schedule & earnings will have a high degree of predictability. We hire just enough staff to meet our needs. This avoids situations where we have staff that have to compete for work.

Training

Safety of our staff and our canine clients is a priority. We provide thorough online and in-person training that is based on over 10 years of experience and hundreds of thousands of miles with dogs by our sides.

WE SCREEN CLIENTS FOR YOU

We screen our clients. DDH Trial Session Consultants personally interview our human clients to make sure we can meet their needs. This allows you to get down to the business taking dogs for a hike, you know the fun part.

What Our Team Has to Say

Are you a good match?


Interested hikers must meet the following criteria in order to qualify for an interview:

  • You must firstly have a deep love for dogs
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be kind
  • Must be personable but professional with human clients
  • Must have a positive attitude
  • Comfortable with dogs of all sizes (able to handle 4 large dogs at once)
  • Be able to hike with dogs and have a good time
  • Able to hike 5 - 6 miles at 2.5 - 4 mph in the foothills multiple times per week
  • Must be able to carry a 20lb backpack
  • Must be able to run, walk, jump, grasp and lift arms above shoulder height
  • Must currently be injury free
  • Must be surefooted on sloping grades and uneven terrain
  • Weather resilient (Snow, rain, 20 deg F - 90 deg F, summer etc)
  • Hold U.S. citizenship or legal working documents
  • Own a smartphone with a data plan
  • Must have a very good driving record and practice safe driving habits when applying to be a van driver/hiker
  • Must be very responsible and organized
  • Must be able to follow instructions
  • Must have good map and route-finding skills
  • Must be able to respond to email, text and phone communication in a timely manner.

COMPENSATION

$18.29 per hour + TIPS

+ Uniform Upgrade Compensation (hiking shoes, pants, shorts, gloves etc)

+ 401k With 3.5% Employer Match
